E-Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Leighton Middle School. We have extensive security measures in place in school, which are monitored, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any e-Safety incidents are recorded and managed.
All members of the school community are committed to behave in a careful, polite and courteous manner as outlined in the Acceptable Use Policies.
To encourage awareness and self-protection, e-Safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online. Teaching occurs in their Computer Studies lesson and their PSR/PSHCE (Citizenship) lessons.

As a school, we also approach this subject during form time and assemblies. We also participate in the annual “Safer Internet Day” where activities are delivered to the whole school community and take part in an e-Safety regional competition run by BCS and the University of Cranfield.
